As we met new people, our declaration of being Canadian was usually followed by apologetic faces on their part. I mean, we're the Canucks; we're the ones supposed to be apologizing. The female partner of one couple we met said, "Why are you here? You must hate us." We don't hate the US. As one who studies Canadian - American interactions pointed out, Canadians often make fun of Americans as we get smothered by their presence being we are such a smaller country. One Canadian comedian wrote a piece about, after Orange was first elected, how Canada was at the same bar and trying to convince the US it had too much to drink and now better get home to face its spouse. (I've been unable to find the link and will edit this if I do). Let's be [Read more...]
This week I had the distinct pleasure of *ahem* hooking up with an old high school friend from before I moved to Toronto...some thirty-odd (very odd) years ago. Lochlin Cross and I were schoolmates and, due to my family moving east before I finished high school, not much more. Started chatting with him on FB messenger last week when I reached out...something about the town of Creston (see my Skelly Manor series, which features the town) playing host to the groping scandal involving Prime Minister Trudeau had me thinking back and caused me to do it. Lochlin is now an FM DJ on 95.7 CRUZ FM in Edmonton, Alberta and, when he found out what I was doing, wanted me to join in on their podcast. The attached is the result of this very bad (or [Read more...]
Someone on Tumblr, also claiming to enjoy ethical non-monogamy, called me a Canadian libtard this morning. I followed with the obvious thought that I finally won Tumblr. Being I've been trying to work on novels lately, it has been too long since I've posted here. This was just the spur I needed. So here we go. There is a politics behind ethical non-monogamous lifestyles that I've seen by not heard mentioned. My hypothesis here is that people who stick to swinging and ideas such as the hot wife or cuckoledism only, tend to be more conservative and right wing. Those who preach polyamory only are more liberal and far left. I say "far left" as liberal in places like Canada and Britain tends to be more center than left. Funny [Read more...]
As always, we Canucks know how to stay warm in these frigid days. I now have PhotoShop and, after a few lessons, now (sort of) how to use it...time to start playing. After the better part of eighteen stressful months that involved my finally burning out last summer, it's time to get back to work. ...so where were we?
Technically, this is about take seven on my annual blogoversary post. Realistically I missed it as it was three weeks ago, so let’s call this Phase II. A veiled Star Trek reference, as I’m so enjoying the new Star Trek Discovery series. It has been a quieter year for me on the site as I focus more on my larger publishing vision. Had some medical and life challenges that have made keeping up as I used to more difficult. I like to think we’re back to all-systems-go, but time will tell. This, however, is not the reason I had difficulty with this post specifically. Lately, it has been difficult reconciling with the reality of truth from facts. As an atheist, I’ve often joked that I’ll call your truth and raise you facts, but with the big [Read more...]

This is episode 9 of Polytix. This week, @LaurasPond and I explore our experiences with some of the more entitled in the swinging and polyamorous community. It isn't all just great sex and mind-blowing orgasms, unfortunately.
